Artist and Mother…

I see you there. You with the house scattered with laundry and sketchbooks. You struggling to find a balance, wondering how to make it all work, pining for extra studio time. You might be a caretaker, have a busy career, or be a parent like me, but whoever you are, if you are an artist you know that there are constantly things knocking at your door and trying to take time away from your studio practice.

I’m here to tell you, it’s possible to make it work. You can make critical art and be a mother at the same time. You can have a thriving studio practice and a life that is enriched through other outlets. It takes some strategic planning, heaps of focus and lots of support, but you can make it happen.

I’ve made it my personal mission to be a champion and activist for those like me- artists and women artists in particular who are balancing their careers while submerged in young motherhood.
